Revelation

The planets in the solar system, in order of their distance from the Sun from nearest to farthest, are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. On the afternoon of August 24, 2006, at the 26th Astronomical Union meeting, a resolution was passed, officially classifying Pluto as a dwarf planet by astronomers through voting and removing it from the list of planets. [1] The rotation directions of most of the eight planets are also consistent with their revolution directions. Only Venus and Uranus are exceptions. The rotation direction of Venus is opposite to its revolution direction. Uranus, on the other hand, rolls around its orbit. Pluto, once regarded as one of the "Nine Planets", was defined as a "dwarf planet" on August 24, 2006.

Experimental purpose:
Which are the eight major planets?
What are the characteristics of the eight planets?

Principle application

In order of their distances from the Sun, the planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars, which are relatively close to the Sun, are called terrestrial planets, while Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are called Jovian planets. All Jovian planets are surrounded by planetary rings composed of dust and many small particles. Except for the Earth, the planets visible to the naked eye are named after the Five Elements, while in the West, they are all named after those in Greek and Roman mythology.

Experimental cognition

We often compare the solar system to a harmonious big family, with the Sun being the supreme "head" of this family. Its power and strength make all family members follow the rules and keep revolving around it on the track it sets. In this family of the Sun, the eight planets are the children of the Sun, and dozens of satellites are its grandchildren...
Planets themselves do not emit light, but because they are right beside the Sun and very close to the Earth, they are all very bright and dazzling. And only these few brilliant stars are wandering "randomly" in the starry sky. They move east and west, sometimes fast and sometimes slow, unpredictable and ever-changing, and that's where the name "planets" comes from. In the West, it is called "Planet", which means "wanderer". It can be said that the driving force behind the development of ancient astronomy was to explain and predict the positions of planets.
The solar system refers to the system composed of the Sun and the celestial bodies moving around it, as well as the spatial region it occupies. Broadly speaking, the territory of the solar system includes the Sun, four inner planets similar to Earth, the asteroid belt composed of many small rocks, four huge outer planets filled with gas, and the second small celestial body region filled with frozen small rocks, known as the Kuiper Belt. Beyond the Kuiper Belt, there are the ecliptic dispersion disk, the heliosphere and the still hypothetical Oort Cloud.

Knowledge Expansion: Understanding Constellations

Constellations are components of astrology and also groups of stars in the sky. Since ancient times, humans have associated groups of stars with characters or objects in their myths and called them "constellations". In 1930, the Astronomical Union divided the sky into eighty-eight official constellations using boundaries and based on ancient Greek mythology passed down from the Middle Ages. These constellations have been widely used in the field of navigation and are almost the means by which all civilizations determine their positions in the sky.

The origin of constellations
In order to facilitate the study and observation of numerous stars in the sky, astrologers of the Mesopotamian civilization divided the starry sky into several regions, and each region was a constellation. It is hard to say exactly when humans began to have the concept of constellations. This kind of astronomical knowledge was understood by people long before there were historical records. The names of the constellations are very likely derived from early sailors. In the civilizations of different regions, the origins of constellations may be completely different. However, as each civilization expanded and influenced each other, the culture of constellations also included a process of integration.

Knowledge extension

The original Babylonians made a constellation calendar of the four seasons based on the movement of the stars, hoping to use it to divinate and predict the fate of their people. In fact, this divination method is similar to the ancient Chinese Purple Star Astrology. Both calculate the various aspects of a person's life based on the relationship between the person being divined and the movement of celestial bodies. Because ancient humans relied on the changes of celestial phenomena to survive, natural disasters were irresistible, thus giving rise to a sense of destiny among humans. And they discovered that the movements of the sun, moon and stars in the universe influence the rise and fall of all things, and even human destiny.

When each person is born, the angles and distances at which each planet, big or small, in the solar system, including the Sun, the Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto, moves are different, thus having a significant impact. Each planet and its corresponding 12 zodiac signs have a cause-and-effect relationship with each other, and their influences on a person's traits are all different. When these planets rotate, each person's behavior and destiny also change accordingly. For the attitude towards horoscope fortune-telling, one should believe rather than be superstitious. For more details, please refer to "Dong Shiming on the Existence State and Development of Feng Shui Culture".

The sun sign is often mentioned in astrology. As long as one knows a person's date of birth, they can find out their sun sign. The orbit of the sun is called the ecliptic. The ecliptic is divided into 12 zones, each of which is 30 degrees. These 12 zones are what we call the sun constellations. The twelve zodiac signs start from the vernal equinox, that is, when the Sun reaches the vernal equinox around March 20th each year, they are arranged in the following order: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Everyone belongs to only one sun sign. As the time when the Sun enters the house varies each year, if one's birthday falls at the junction of two zodiac signs, they should refer to the astronomical calendar to determine their sun sign. It is impossible for someone to have two sun signs. Astrology holds that the sun sign represents a person's innate personality, willpower, and way of self-expression. Through the sun sign, we can have a basic understanding of a person. However, to fully understand a person, apart from the sun sign, we also need to look at the house where the sun is located and its Angle with other celestial bodies. Even if the sun signs are the same, different houses and angles will have different influences from the sun sign. Therefore, a person's personality is not only classified into twelve types.

Moon astrology holds that the moon sign is the position of the moon at birth. The moon influences the tidal changes on Earth and also affects human emotions, inner feelings, subconsciousness, spiritual aspects, family and the influence of family members, personal habits, dietary habits, preferences, ideals, imagination, acceptance, adaptability, intuition and temperament. The moon symbolizes mother. Through the moon sign, one can understand their attitude towards their mother and the influence she exerts. It can also reveal their attitude towards other women. For men, it can show the way they treat their wives. The moon sign influences the subconscious and does not affect external personality manifestations, but it does influence the formation of one's personality. The manifestations of the bright moon signs are obvious in childhood and primary school. Once they have some understanding of life, they hide away. The ascendant sign, sun sign and moon sign are the three zodiac signs that have a significant influence on an individual's personality.

The ascendant sign is the one that rises on the eastern horizon at the moment of your birth, representing a person's personality, appearance and body shape. Usually around the age of thirty, when a person becomes mature, their daily behavior, personality, preferences and appearance are all influenced by their ascendant sign. To know your ascendant sign, you need to calculate it based on your specific date and time of birth, as well as the longitude and latitude of your place of birth, just like the traditional Chinese eight characters of birth. The ascendant sign marks the beginning of an individual's astrological chart and is particularly significant. It influences one's nature, health, appearance, personal preferences, and changes in one's destiny. From a personal astrological chart, you can see a sky full of stars. Different constellations are located in the house of life, and the position of each constellation affects your fortune. If the constellations that appear in your natal house are different, they will have different meanings.
