Ii. Structure and Principle: This instrument is composed of a pulley, a pulley frame, a crossbeam, a pin shaft, a screw, a butterfly nut, a bracket and a base.

Iii. Usage Method:

1) For the fixed pulley test, a spring scale is used in conjunction. Fix the pulley crossbeam on the bracket, hold the spring scale by hand and move it slowly upwards to change the number of hooks and codes. Repeat this several times and observe that the reading of the spring scale is equal to the weight of the hooks and codes, but the two move in opposite directions. It is indicated that using a fixed pulley cannot save effort, but it can change the direction of force, making work more convenient.

2) For the movable pulley test, a spring scale is used in conjunction. Hold the spring scale with your hand and move it slowly upwards to change the number of hooks and weights. Repeat this several times and observe that the reading of the spring scale is half of the total weight of the hooks and weights, but the distance that the rope at one end of the spring scale moves upward should be twice as much. It is indicated that using a movable pulley can save half the force, but the direction of the force cannot be changed.

3) Pulley block experiment: Use fixed pulleys and movable pulleys in combination to form a pulley block. Repeated experiments have shown that the use of pulley blocks can not only save effort but also change the direction of force application, making work more convenient.

Iv. Pay Attention to Methods:

1) The instrument should be placed in a dry, cool and non-corrosive area. 2) Do not apply heavy pressure or fold the instrument heavily to avoid breakage and deformation. 3) Do not hang too many hooks and codes to avoid damaging the instrument.
