Often, I see my mother put the freshly washed clothes into a spin dryer. In no time, the clothes are spun dry. So, how does a spin dryer spin off the moisture on the clothes? Let's find out the reason through the following experiment!

Experimental cognition: Centrifugal force refers to the force that deviates from the center of rotation due to the rotation of an object. It is also an apparent force in a rotating reference frame, which causes the object to deviate outward along the radial direction from the rotation axis. Its value is equal to the centripetal acceleration but in the opposite direction. Centrifugal force is a manifestation of inertia and does not actually exist. To make an object move in a circular motion, the object needs to be subjected to a force pointing towards the center of the circle - that is, the centripetal force. If this object is taken as the origin to establish coordinates, it seems as if there is a force of the same magnitude but opposite direction as the centripetal force, causing the object to move away from the center of the circular motion. (When the force acting on the object is insufficient to provide the centripetal force required for the circular motion, it seems as if the centrifugal force is greater than the centripetal force, and the object will move away from the center. This phenomenon is called the "centrifugal phenomenon".)
Experimental Steps: 1) Experimental preparation, getting to know the experimental equipment: wires, color stickers, battery boxes, double-sided tape, plastic boards, spin-dry buckets, plastic cups, small motors, foam positioning boards. 2) Connect two wires to the two joints of the small motor respectively, then fix the small motor in the foam positioning block. Stick double-sided tape on the foam positioning block and bond them together. Use circular double-sided tape to fix the plastic cup on the foam positioning block. 3) Refer to the figure in the picture, stick the battery box onto the plastic plate, connect the positive wire on the motor to the positive wire on the battery box, and connect the negative wire. Wet the cloth piece and put it into the spin-drying bucket. Turn on the switch on the battery. The spin-drying bucket rotates rapidly to spin off the water on the cloth piece.
Note: Before installing the battery and placing the wet cloth into the spin dryer bucket, to avoid short circuits or hand injuries, if you need to adjust the rotation direction of the spin dryer, please first cut off the power supply and adjust the wiring direction of the positive and negative poles.
