The English name for the "Heavenly Beads" is "gZi Beads", and in Tibetan it is called "zi Si". In Chinese, it is translated as "Si" or "se", and is also known as "stone dropped from the sky". In the "Tibetan-Chinese Dictionary", the definition of "tianzhu" is :" agate, 猫睛石, a kind of gemstone, commonly known as the nine-eyed pearl." It can be used as medicine to treat cerebral hemorrhage. The earliest sky pearl was the Zhangzhung sky Pearl. The Zhangzhung sky Pearl was born in the ancient Zhangzhung Kingdom, the most powerful ancient civilization spanning Central Asia and the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. It is a sacred object of the Bon religion and the first of the seven treasures of the Tibetan people.

The Zhang Zhung sky beads are enshrined and blessed by great accomplished masters and eminent monks and virtuous masters as offerings to the Buddha or are hidden and passed down through the ages. All the existing (old) sky beads are remnants of ancient people and are extremely rare and precious. The Zhangxiong sky Pearl is currently the oldest and purest sky pearl that has been physically witnessed, and it is an extremely rare and precious treasure. The earliest natural dzi beads were made by polishing conch fossils.
