Chateau de Janicon - Graves AOC
Chateau de Janicon is located in the village of Castres in the northern part of the Graf Appellation d 'Origine Controleur. It has a vineyard area of 30 hectares and produces two types of wines: dry red and dry white. The vineyard is located on a circular hill covered with pebbles, with a middle layer of siliceous clay and a deep layer of calcareous fertile soil. Such soil structure was formed during the Gonzani period (the early Spiritual period). The pebbles on the surface are very conducive to the infiltration of rainfall into the deep soil. Meanwhile, during the growth of the seedlings and vines, pebbles can also reflect sunlight and maintain the soil temperature at night. Deep clayey soil can ensure that seedlings and vines can search for or store water sources in this soil layer regardless of whether it is dry or rainy in summer.
