Knowledge Point 2: LED Lights and Direct Current: There are many kinds of light sources that emit light in our daily life. For example: sunlight, candles, incandescent lamps, power-red lamps, LED lamps, etc. Many red lights and advertising lights use LED lights. The LED lights used today are driven by a DC power supply. All power supplies that distinguish between positive and negative poles are DC power supplies. The 220V household and 380V industrial electricity in our daily life belongs to alternating current power supply. There is no distinction between positive and negative poles. The LED light bead has two pins, one long and one short. The longer pin is connected to the positive pole. The positive terminal is generally indicated by a red line. The short pin is connected to the negative terminal. The negative wire is generally represented by a black wire. The LED beads won't light up when connected in reverse. Dc lamp beads with tungsten filaments can be easily burned out and damaged if connected in reverse.
