Product features
The chime bells are a kind of percussion instrument in ancient China, made of bronze. They are composed of flat and round bells of different sizes arranged in order of pitch and hung on a huge bell stand. When struck with a T-shaped wooden hammer and a long rod respectively, different musical sounds can be produced. Because each bell has a different pitch, when struck according to the musical score, beautiful music can be played. The chime bells of Marquis Yi of Zeng are cultural relics from the early Warring States Period. They were unearthed in 1978 from an early Warring States period tomb in Suixian County, Hubei Province - the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng. It is a huge set of bronze Musical Instruments (made of copper, tin and lead alloy), totaling 65 pieces, with a range spanning five and a half octaves and all twelve semitones complete. It is the largest and best-preserved set of large chime bells in China. Its superb casting technology and excellent musical performance have rewritten the history of world music and have been called a "rare treasure" by experts and scholars at home and abroad.
